NTZDC Conducts Field Orientation for New Board Chairman

On Monday, the Corporation’s Board of Directors and management accompanied the newly appointed Board Chairman Mr. Joseph Gitonga on a field visit to the East of Rift to appreciate the operations on the ground on tea buffer establishment and maintenance for forest conservation.

The Board Chairman and his team visited buffer blocks in Nyambene to demonstrate tea nursery establishment and maintenance. The field staff also demonstrated tea seedling planting, and mature tea plucking and pruning which are crucial activities in buffer maintenance.

Board Chairman commended the staff for their grasp of technical aspects of agronomy and commitment to achieving the corporate objectives. He termed the visit a learning experience and called on management and staff to play their role in the success of the Corporation. The Chairman promised Board support to address operational challenges and exploit opportunities to take the Corporation to greater heights. He noted that everyone has an obligation to leave the Corporation better than they found it. The field visit continues.
